The name Max is a very literary name. It is in all sorts of children's books. We were inspired to use the name because of the book "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak, a book and author that both Lane and I love. We even decorated Max's room with illustrations from the book and the words "Let the Wild Rumpus Start" which is a direct quote from the book.
I'm starting to think maybe we knew exactly what type of child we were going to have. This is an illustration from the book. If you replace the dog, with a cat then you have a clear picture of what life has been like in the Nelson House lately.
Wild Rumpus, hmmmmm. Maybe that wasn't such a good thing to put on the wall.
